Association of Independent Midwives of Greece

EAMME

I am a founding member and have been on the Board of Directors of Association of Independent Midwives of Greece (EAMME) from 2022 to 2025. E.A.M.M.E. was founded with the aim of defending and promoting independent midwifery in our country. It is a collective body that brings together independent midwives, promoting the principles of freedom of choice in childbirth, care during childbirth and the essential information of women and their families.

The Union works for:

The promotion of autonomous midwifery as a fundamental pillar of maternal and child health.
The information and empowerment of women, so that they have access to valid knowledge and make informed choices about their birth and care.
The defense of rights of women in obstetric care, with respect for autonomy and human dignity.
The education and support of midwives and midwives, through actions, collaborations and continuous professional development.

The E.A.M.M.E. is a living organization that connects midwives and obstetricians with society, highlights their role in the health system and promotes a more humane, holistic and respectful culture around birth.
